Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band….
Probably the coolest band name that is annoying to say. And of course I have an affinity with it being from the northwest… However these guys sound just like their name would imply, a dormant volcano that was once explosive, broken down vets that were once involved in a terrible war that has left their psyche a little disturbed and frantic… like the mountain and the war these songs have guitar remnants of the past, definitely a rock band with slight sounds of ’80s metal but looking for a place in todays indie rock landscape. Don’t listen on a day when you just want to feel Portland depressed… but if it’s raining outside and you want to feel like it’s a Portland summer day, put this album on and it’ll get you moving again.
